An Israeli woman who says she survived the October 7 Hamas raid in Kibbutz Be’eri told Israeli State Radio in a now-censored interview that the true culprits in the mass slaughtering were Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers, not merely Hamas militants acting entirely on their own.
According to Yasmin Porat – you can listen to a clip of her speaking below – Israeli forces “undoubtedly” killed innocent Israeli civilians, adding that they “eliminated everyone, including the hostages” amid the crossfire.
Many Israeli civilians in Kibbutz Be’eri were killed by Israeli forces, survivor Yasmin Porat told Israeli state radio in a now censored interview. Here it is with translation.

Porat explained that once the fierce gun battles broke out between the IDF and Hamas, IDF soldiers indiscriminately fired their weapons at both the Hamas fighters and their Israeli prisoners.
“There was very, very heavy crossfire,” Porat revealed, adding that there was even tank shelling.

The 44-year-old mother of three alleges that prior to the arrival of IDF soldiers, the Palestinian captors treated her and other civilian hostages “humanely.” In other words, Hamas may not be as violent, especially against civilians, as the Israeli government claims.
Porat was actually at the nearby “Nova” rave, she says, when she fled the scene during the attack and ended up in Kibbutz Be’eri, located along the Israel-Gaza border.
The interview took place on the radio program Haboker Hazeh, hosted by Aryeh Golan on state broadcaster Kan, with the aforementioned portions of it removed from the official online version.
“It may well have been censored due to its explosive nature,” one report explains about the matter.
Porat actually lives in Kabri, a settlement near the border of Lebanon. She saw many terrible things that day, including the death of her partner, Tal Katz.
The point of Porat’s claims, though, is to highlight the variance between what she says actually happened on October 7 and what the Israeli government claims happened in an apparent desperate attempt to justify the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
“They did not abuse us,” Porat says about her Hamas captors – Porat herself, by the way, received a bullet in the thigh, presumably from IDF soldiers. “They treated us very humanely.”
“But that, I mean they guard us. They give us something to drink here and there. When they see we are nervous, they calm us down. It was very frightening, but no one treated us violently. Luckily, nothing happened to me like what I heard in the media.”
One of the Palestinian fighters, who spoke Hebrew, apparently told Porat:
“Look at me well: we’re not going to kill you. We want to take you to Gaza. We are not going to kill you. So be calm, you’re not going to die.”
“I was calm because I knew nothing would happen to me,” Porat says about how she felt after being told this. “They told us that we would not die, that they wanted to take us to Gaza and that the next day they would return us to the border.”
Even though the Palestinian fighters all had loaded weapons, Porat says they never once – not a single one of them – ever shot any captives or even threatened anyone with their weapons.
“In addition to providing the captives with drinking water, she said the fighters let them go outside to the lawn because it was hot, especially as the electricity was cut,” another report adds about Porat’s account of events.
